Internationalization installation

  • After installation goto https://drupal.org/node/275705
  • Install Internationalization and Variable module
  • Enable Locale, Contact and Content translation in Core
  • Enable Variable, Variable realm and Variable store in Variable
  • Enable all but forum and poll in Multilanguage - i18n
  • Go to Home » Administration » Configuration » Regional and language and click Add language, From the drop down list select a predefined language, I selected Hebrew (עברית), and click the Add language button.
  • On the same page, go to the detection and selection tab and set detection method to URL (you can select a different detection method, but I didn’t try it yet, so I don’t know how it affects the rest of the multilingual settings).
  • Now go to Structure > Blocks and look for the language switcher. You will find him at the disabled section. From its drop down list, select a suitable display block. To remove the title, return to the blocks page, click the configure next to the blocks location drop down, and set Block title to <none>
